This love story began in Austin, Texas, in October of 2020, when Jennifer was assigned as a companion to one of Luis' patients at work. Little did the two know that they would find companionship in each other. Jennifer, for one, had her guard up. Her earbuds were in, playing murder podcasts in the background. With each attempt Luis made to spark up a conversation he was met with glares of annoyance, making it all too clear she was not in the mood for this man to interrupt her “zen.”

Luckily time was on Luis’ side; twelve hours of the shift remained. And after all of those twelve hours, he had discovered only a little bit more about this beautiful woman named Jen. He had figured out some of her favorite restaurants and even a couple of bands she enjoyed. Although they didn’t leave that night as newly discovered soulmates, it was just enough to make them both excited and curious for what could be. Several months later, Jennifer would ask Luis to be her boyfriend. Now she can look back to that night they met and say it was when she started falling in love with her future husband.

In August of 2021, the couple took a leap of faith and started travel nursing together. The two left their home with only each other, to see new places and create new opportunities for their life. It turned out to be one of the best choices they could have made.

In October of 2022, Luis took Jennifer on a surprise trip to Paris, France, where he asked her to spend the rest of their lives together, and she said “YES!” As time passes, they hope to be blessed with good health and the chance to grow old together. They know they will face new challenges along the way, but they vow to always love one another and put in the work necessary to stay honest, open, and loyal for all the years to come.
