Sunday, November 3rd is the Wedding Day
We are so excited to celebrate with all of you this weekend, and with the Welcome Party tomorrow we thought we would provide some additional information, recommendations and answer some frequently asked questions.
WELCOME PARTY AT THE NEST
Time: The website originally listed 6:30-9:30. We now have the space starting at 6, so feel free to come earlier if you want, although it is come and go as you please so its fine to come later. Please note that at 9 the venue will open to the public.
Food and Drink: Open Bar from 6-9/9:30. We will also be serving an assortment buffet style light fare/bites and heavy hors d'oeuvres including pasta, chicken skewers, blue crab cakes, meatballs, Adriatic sausages, etc but there is no formal timed sit down (but plenty of food to fill you up). The Nest also has an excellent full menu which you can order from, but it is not included.
After 9/9:30: For those who aren't ready to check out for the night after our Welcome Party ends, we HIGHLY recommend sticking around the Nest after if you have the stamina! The Nest is a legendary SCENE in Palm Desert, and it is not unusual to find a line of 50 out the door by 10. There is a live band (which should start before our Welcome party finishes).
DAYTIME ACTIVITIES
Check out the website, but we highly recommend going to El Paseo drive for great lunch and dinner spots along with shopping options, the Living Desert for an outdoor/nature activity, and of course the area is full of great golf courses. The Indian Wells Golf Resort is literally a couple hundred feet from both the Esmeralda Renaissance and Hyatt as they all share the same parking. See the Restaurants and Activities link above.
GOLFERS - If you are looking for people to play/be paired with let us know, you can text Michael at 316-253-7710. We have already had a number of you reach out and we will do our best to facilitate.
SATURDAY NIGHT
For those not participating in the rehearsal dinner, please check out the Restaurant recommendations tab on this site and book ASAP if you haven't already.
For those looking to do something after dinner, we don't have any specific plans for you yet, however, we recommend just walking up and down El Paseo as there are plenty of restaurants with bars that are open late, and there are also dedicated cocktail lounges like the Libation Room.
SUNDAY WEDDING
This day and the schedule should be self-explanatory, all we'll say is that it's going to be an amazing day at an incredible venue with wonderful entertainment, all only exceeded by the quality of the people in attendance! We can't wait to celebrate with everyone.
TRANSPORTATION
For those staying at the Esmerelda Renaissance or Hyatt, shuttles to The Vintage prior to the wedding and from The Vintage back to the hotels after will be available.
If you are staying elsewhere you will need to arrange your own transportation. When arriving, provide your name at the gate and state that you are part of the wedding. And if you are being picked up you will need to provide your driver your name and let them know that you are part of the wedding so that they can tell gate security.
Love,
Jen and Michael
