You must have a reservation for a timed entry to get into the park ($2). You can reserve your timed entry for August 1st-31st on July 1st and for September 1st-30th on August 1st here: https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086910/ticket/10086911

You will also need a parks pass to get in which you can purchase at the gate or online in advance. I recommend buying a pass after you get your timed-entry reservation (in case you're not able to get one). You can also purchase tickets for the Hiker Shuttle ($2) which picks up in Estes Park at the Estes Park Visitor Center and will drop you at the RMNP Park and Ride. From the Park and Ride, you can take a shuttle up to Bear Lake to enjoy the sights and many hiking trails. You may also catch a shuttle to the Moraine Park which offers several other hiking trails and lakes. The shuttle runs daily until September 2nd and Saturday & Sunday only starting September 7th. If you're not able to get a timed entry pass, you're not out of luck! You can still enter the park before 9:00am (general park) or before 5:00am (for Bear Lake Road access). You'll still need to purchase a parks pass if you enter without a timed-entry pass.
