The story starts one night at the UCF Reflecting Pond on September 21st, 2022.Freshman year. We were adults now. Allegedly.A time when you feel wildly independent but still Google “how long do you cook rice?" (We burned the rice. Every time.)We love telling people we had a romantic meet-cute.Like we locked eyes across the water.Like there was slow motion.Like the universe whispered.That is not what happened.Jennifer saw him on social media, stared for a minute, thought, “Oh, wow,” and sent a single, extremely out-of-character message:“hot”Not “hi.”Not “how are you.”Not even a period.Literally just that.She closed the app. She moved on with her life. She truly thought that was the last we’d ever hear of it.It was not.He replied.Suddenly this was real.That same night, Jennifer was at the Pond reading — voluntarily — while he had just wrapped up a fraternity meeting. She would later discover this “meeting” consisted primarily of learning choreography to Nicki Minaj’s “Super Freaky Girl.”When he found out where she was, he said he was coming over.Not “we should hang sometime.”Not “are you free?”Just, “I’m coming.”They sat down by the water and started talking. And kept talking. And kept talking. The kind of conversation where you learn someone’s childhood trauma before you learn their favorite color.They both kept saying they should probably head back.They did not head back.Instead, they wandered around campus as two freshmen who had absolutely nowhere to be and somehow everywhere to go. Laughing. Oversharing. Quietly thinking, “This feels important.”After that night, it was basically over for everyone else.Dorm visits turned into staying over. Staying over turned into unofficially living together. At some point, half of his closet migrated. At some point, her makeup did too.They adopted two very spoiled cats who now fully believe they founded the relationship. They moved into their first apartment and quickly realized that living together means assembling furniture at midnight while insisting you are not frustrated, even though you absolutely are. They learned that “I’m fine” rarely means fine, and that “I’ll be ready in five minutes” confidently means fifteen. They set alarms they fully intended to wake up to. They became those people who say, “We have food at home,” and actually mean it.They argued about what to watch for twenty minutes and then rewatched the same show anyway. They apologized to guests for fur on everything while simultaneously talking about their cats like proud parents. There were long couch conversations that stretched late into the night. There were random kitchen dances that started for no reason at all.Somewhere between the small disagreements and the small joys, they learned how to apologize. They learned how to listen. They learned how to stay.Oh, and they stopped burning the rice, mostly.What started as unexpected became safe.What started as bold became steady.What started as one brave move became years of choosing each other...on the easy days and the hard ones.Fast forward to 2025.He got down on one knee.And yes, the girl who led with “hot” said yes.Turns out sometimes the most unfiltered first message leads to the most intentional forever.And we wouldn’t change a single word of it.

Boca Raton and the surrounding beaches have so many great spots to enjoy, from ocean views and local restaurants to coffee shops and shopping. BeachesSouth Florida’s coastline is just minutes away. Red Reef Park (Jennifer's go-to beach growing up) and Spanish River Beach are beautiful Boca beaches perfect for relaxing by the water. Just a short drive south, Deerfield Beach &amp; Pier offers a lively beachfront with restaurants, cafés, and one of the best ocean views in the area. RestaurantsThere are plenty of great places nearby for lunch or dinner. JB’s on the Beach in Deerfield is a classic oceanfront spot for seafood and sunset views. Houston’s is a longtime Boca favorite on the Intracoastal with great food and waterfront dining. For something lively, El Camino in Mizner Park is known for tacos and margaritas, while TwentyTwenty Grille and La Nouvelle Maison are wonderful options for a more upscale dinner. Coffee &amp; Casual StopsIf you’re looking for a good coffee or a relaxed breakfast, The Seed Coffee + Juice Bar, Third Place Coffee Lounge, and Carmela Coffee are all great local cafés. Shopping &amp; ExploringMizner Park is the heart of downtown Boca Raton with restaurants, shops, and the Boca Raton Museum of Art.
