Tommy and Jen met back in 2016 when he was a bartender in Hoboken. Jen's best friend went on a date at the bar and came home to say, "The date was trash but I met the best bartender. We have to go back." A Wednesday in the summer Jen stopped in before a movie on the pier and safe to say she never made it to the movie. The bar was empty except for Tommy, Meg and Jen and they spent the night drinking and sharing music over the speakers as people started filtering in from their make shift karaoke night. Jen would pop in here and there to say hi and grab a drink but they reconnected a year later through mutual friends and haven't stopped talking since August 2017. Jen would leave her job in Flatiron to sit at the bar on the Upper East Side Tommy worked at to spend time together because their working schedules were not in sync. In December of 2017 some friends at the bar asked if Jen was his girlfriend. She replied with, "Do you want me to be?" He asked, "Do you want to be?" They both said yes and sealed it with a high five. After several separate apartments, a move to their shared one in Hoboken in 2019, a covid lockdown, and new jobs they got engaged in October 2022. Tommy proposed in "their spot" on the beach in Belmar, just the two of them (and his brother & sister snapping pictures) and celebrated with family and friends after.
They haven't stopped laughing since the day they met and after almost 6 years together, they cannot wait to celebrate with their closest friends and family.
