A Story By Steven Evans &nbsp; Jen and Stevens love story starts like any other millennial love story, with the internet. As fate would have it, both Jennifer and Steven shared a singular passion to their tinder profiles, a passion for medicine. Tinder brought them to their first date at Other Mama, both too nervous to finish the single Japanese tapa they ordered, a chewy octopus tentacle. Their second date set a lifelong precedent of poor time management that continues to this day. To set the scene, it was a brisk November evening when they decided to go out again. It was agreed upon that Steven would pick up Jen from her parents house and take her to one of the most exclusive restaurants on the western seaboard, Yardhouse at the Red Rock Casino. Steven showed up overdressed and under-prepared, as usual, 15 minutes before the designated pick-up time. He sent her a text letting her know that he had arrived and waited patiently in his car. 15 minutes came and went with 2 more text messages and no reply. By the time another 15 minutes had passed, 2 phone calls with 2 more text messages remained unanswered. Steven was about to leave, astounded by the audacity of being ghosted, but instead decided to knock on her door. The air was cold, but Steven was red hot with embarrassment when Jens father answered the door. With broken English, Jen’s father was able to communicate that she was simply taking a long shower. Despite their time differences, love between the two bloomed like a Bulbophyllum nocturnum under a full moon. 6 months later they decided to explore their passion for medicine. It was decided that they would take a leap of faith and apply to Physician Assistant programs together across the country. As they anxiously waited for their replies, sweat dripping from their brows and lips quivering in anticipation, emails slowly rolled in. “REJECTED, REJECTED, REJECTED, REJECTED” came in time and time again. Instead of PA school, the inquisitive young couple decided to attend a bridge program and get a master’s degree first. From there they were accepted into PA school and spent a total of just over 3 years of their lives in graduate school. Graduate school was the toughest time of their lives, however having each other made it all worth it. They were each other’s support through the endless sleepless nights and numerous difficult exams. Every week seemed to get harder and harder, but knowing that they had each other by their sides was enough comfort and reassurance. Through this experience they learned that as long they have each other, they can get through any hardship. She his rock, he her pillar.&nbsp; After school was over and real life began, days began blending together. Steven knew that Jennifer was one of a kind and not one to be taken lightly, she needed to be locked down at once, and Steven only knew one way to do it. DIAMONDS. Steven planned the proposal at Lake Las Vegas near the waterfront and hired a photographer. Under the guise of a pharmaceutical dinner, the stage was set. On the day of the planned proposal, Jen took charge by driving to the location while Steven nervously made conversation in the worst way possible. These asides included, but were not limited to, “do you want to break up with me?” as he knew this was her last chance to back out of the relationship. It was beautiful October evening, The water of Lake Las Vegas providing just enough moisture in the air for the temperature to be a comfortable 70 degrees around sunset. As Steven and Jen walked along the shoreline, there was a clear X marked on the ground, however Jen did not seem to notice. Suspicion began to arise in Jen as the photographer started raising his camera and Steven was falling down on one knee. Jen then uttered two words that would stick with Steven forever, “OH NO.” While Steven may have lost a girlfriend that fateful day, luck would have it that he would gain a fiancé only a split second later. &nbsp; Despite the above dramatization, the proposal was accepted. Their love continues to grow so much that they decided to share it with the selected few reading this. Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is the most convenient option for our wedding location and accomodations. We recommend choosing your date range, and price watching on Google Flights to book at a time when there is lower pricing. We also recommend checking out Costco Travel as they offer packages with flights, stays, and car rental included. This airport is roughly 25 minutes away from Waikiki.

Transportation to wedding provided

For all of our friends and family who may not want to brave the dark roads at night, we will have a shuttle service to and from the venue on the day of the wedding. Location is TBD, most likely somewhere in Waikiki. Please try to be there at least 15 minutes early so we don't make any delays.

Car Rental

Renting a car in Oahu is a must if you decide to stay before and/or after the wedding. Taxi's and Ubers/Lyfts can be pricey on the island. There are plenty of options for car rentals right at the airport that they will shuttle you to directly! We recommend checking out Turo Car Rental. Download their app for easier access. Driving

Driving from Waikiki to Kualoa Ranch will take approximately 45 minutes not including traffic. We suggest you plan to leave an hour before to get there on time.

Getting to the Venue 

When you drive into the entrance of Kualoa Ranch, you will find a sign that directs you to Paliku Gardens. You will proceed up the road and eventually get to the venue. Parking spaces are to the right hand side. There are enough parking spaces to accommodate all of the guests. After parking, you will proceed to the pavilion across from the parking lot.
