Here are some suggestions for friends and family who are looking for some weekend activities! We have included some of our favorites in Oak Brook and downtown Chicago. You can also text the experts (Andrew & Jenny) if you need any suggestions!
If you do one tour while in town, let us highly recommend this one! Take a 90-minute boat tour along the Chicago River learning about the history and architecture of the city's famous landmarks.
This food hall is located in the hip Fulton Market District neighborhood. Time Out Market offers numerous local Chicago cuisine options with a fun communal atmosphere. We also recommend this part of the city if you are looking for a lively night out. Make sure to check out Kaiser Tiger or Federales!
If you are looking for a touch of nature in the suburbs, this is a great casual walking trail. It is a 3-mile loop around Salt Creek in the Fullersburg Forest Preserve. Graue Mill also features a free small museum that transports you back into the 1800s and shows the tools of the time. It is a fun family activity - just ask James and Annie!
Oak Brook Center is a sprawling outdoor shopping center just minutes from our venue. It offers upscale shopping, activities, and lots of restaurants. We recommend this area if you are looking for lunch or dinner near the venue. Check out Putt Shack for a modern tech-infused take on mini golf. (This was one of Andrew & Jenny's first dates!)
