The closest airport is John Wayne (SNA) however, it's a small airport so you'll most likely have a connecting flight if you're traveling from the East Coast. You'll find plenty of direct flights into LAX which is a 50 mile drive to Orange County. There's a variety of hotels that you can book, ranging from modest motels to luxury resorts. San Clemente is a sleepy beach town so if you're interested in staying the weekend to enjoy what Orange County has to offer, we would recommend booking a hotel in Laguna Beach or Newport Beach.
