Our Wedding

Our story began November 2023 when Jenny went to get her nails done at a local nail salon. The nail technicians kept telling her they had talked to a guy’s mom who got their nails done at the salon and they wanted to set them up with each other. Jenny didn’t really think much of it because the nail techs had tried to do this with someone else before, and it never worked out. Jenny gave her number and a picture to the nail tech, who proceeded to call the mom while Jenny was still getting her nails done. Later that night, Alston worked up the courage to text Jenny, talking every day since. Shortly after they went on a date together and the rest, as they say, is history. We’re so glad Alston’s mom and Paint Nails were persistent in getting us to meet each other - it paid off! We enjoy staying busy, traveling, and hanging out with family and friends. Alston has grown to love Disney trips like Jenny does and Jenny enjoys watching the Carolina Panthers play almost as much as Alston does!

We love visiting City Walk! It’s a local brewery that’s located in an old thrift store. Most Friday nights they have live music!

City Walk Brewing & Distilling

The Farmer's Market is a great place to spend part of your Saturday morning! It is a nice stroll through downtown where you can shop locally.

Hickory Farmers Market

This is our local theater in downtown. It has affordable tickets and a hometown vibe. Alston loves movies so we wanted to add this as something you could do!

Carolina Movie Theater

Hickory has over 10 miles of walkways to walk, run, or ride bikes. We love walking on the different walks around the town.

One of our favorite spots to sit outside downtown and enjoy a glass of wine, charcuterie board, and flatbread!

Hickory is known for furniture manufacturing. If you love to shop for furniture and window shop then you could spend hours here!

We kindly ask guests to dress in semi-formal attire for our special day. Think elegant yet comfortable - perfect for a wedding celebration.For the guys: suits, dress shirts with slacks, or a blazer and nice pants are great choices. Ties are welcome but totally optional.For the ladies: cocktail dresses, midi or maxi dresses, dressy jumpsuits, or a cute skirt and top will fit right in. Please note the ceremony will involve uneven grass, so wear shoes where you'd be comfortable walking.The only thing we ask is that jeans, denim, and super-casual outfits stay at home for the night.Most importantly, come ready to celebrate, dance, and have a great time with us!
