About the venue!
Here's a little bit of information about the wedding venue. It's a stunning wildflower meadow nestled at the base of the mountains.
It's important to note that there will be a short walk on a gravel path, then across a grassy meadow to get from the parking area to the ceremony location (about 500 yards). Both ceremony and cocktail hour will be held outdoors in the meadow.
Golf carts will be available for those who need assistance.
As you plan your attire, we suggest that ladies consider sandals or similar flat shoes as they will be more comfortable than heels on the gravel and grassy terrain.
What will the weather be like?
Salida is at 7,000 feet, so the weather is variable. It has a semi-arid desert climate with September highs usually in the 80s. However, at night, the temperature drops significantly.
September 7, 2019 it snowed 9 inches. Please pack a jacket and keep an eye on the weather forecast as we get closer to the date.
What is the elevation of Salida?
Salida is 7,000 feet above sea level. Don't forget to drink more water than usual when traveling into the area to avoid altitude sickness.
How should I get there?
Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is the nearest airport, located about two hours from Salida. We recommend flying into Colorado Springs and renting a car to drive to Salida. Alternatively, you can fly into Denver International Airport (DIA), which is approximately a three-hour drive from Salida.
What should I wear?
The wedding attire is semi formal. We want everyone to be comfortable and are aiming for a relaxed yet polished look.
We encourage guests to incorporate floral prints or accents into their outfits.
Ladies, think flowy dresses or sundresses.
Men, think sports coats with slacks. Suit optional. Ties extremely optional. No bolo ties.
