Mount Tom - Located in Marsh Billings Rockefeller Park and has over 20 miles of trails available to explore. The Faulkner trail is a favorite (the trailhead is a short walk from the inn through the covered bridge). The trail is to the top includes a special view the village Woodstock. Continue on to the Pogue, a beautiful 14-acre pond located within the park, or make your way back down the Faulkner Trail – depending on the amount of time you want to spend on your hike.
Mount Peg - Steps from the Inn, Mt. Peg features lovely hiking with rolling hills.
Deer Leap – Dip your toe in the Appalachian Trail with this short hike that offers a dramatic reward. About a 30 minute drive from the Inn and near Killington resort, this 2-mile trail leads to a rocky outcrop that overlooks the north side of Sherburne Pass.
The Pottery Trail - Simon Pearce, Farmhouse Pottery, and Miranda Thomas
The Woodstock area offers nationally-known pottery and glass. Simon Pearce in Quechee, Farmhouse Pottery in Woodstock, and Miranda Thomas Pottery in Bridgewater have unique styles that are artistic and functional -- and all are located on Rte. 4. (Simon Pearce is perhaps better known for glass; you can see glass-blowing in Quechee or visit the factory and factory store in Windsor.)
Old-Fashioned Country Store – Gillingham’s in Woodstock
You’ll find everything here from penny candy and maple syrup to wine and hunting gear! Gillingham’s is a true Vermont General Store.
Cheeses –Sugarbush Farm
A 4-generation family farm that’s famous for its excellent waxed cheeses and pure Vermont maple syrup made right on the farm. The 500-acre farm is located on a scenic road outside Woodstock. You'll find free samples of cheese and maple syrup and the farm store is full of jams, mustard's, spreads and meats made locally.
