In August of 2017, Jenny & Ryan met via mutual friends (thanks Emily) while she was visiting home for a week, about to start her new career as a teacher in NYC. Three weeks later, Ryan drove to New York City without telling anybody where he was going or why. A couple of months after that, everyone pretty much knew this was going to last.

After a whirlwind-year of driving between Gloucester and NYC, Ryan finally packed his bags, said goodbye to his hometown, and moved down to the Big Apple, where he and Jenny found a home in the Ditmars neighborhood of Astoria. In the years that followed, from the bustling city streets of New York, to a quick two month stop in Vermont, and finally, back to Cape Ann, they faced the twists and turns of life together, always able to find calm and peace within one another.

In October of 2021, Jenny interrupted Hocus Pocus to ask Ryan if he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. A few days later, he returned the favor (and it wasn't easy. She DID interrupt Hocus Pocus after all). A year after that, they figured it was finally time to start planning the damn thing.
