(Jensen’s perspective) On November 12, 2023, I started my morning with my besties after a sleepover, getting ready for brunch since Michael was “out of town”. Patty tells me that after lunch, my mom is going to cut her hair before going to my grandma’s, so we need to go to her house and quickly. When we get there, the curtains to the backyard are all closed so I’m thinking to myself, “wow she really is leaving RIGHT after this”. All of a sudden, Bailey, our beloved pup, comes in from the blocked off backyard…. mind you, she is supposed to be in Orlando with Michael. So now I am all kinds of confused. The girls are pushing me towards the backyard and mom wouldn’t answer any of my questions as to why my dog was there, and then suddenly they open the curtains. I don’t see Michael right away, but I do see a woman I’ve never seen before and a camera. I turn my head and suddenly there is my amazing man in front of a stunning arch filled with beautiful candles and pictures of us. He surprised me with the best proposal a girl could ask for and of course I said yes. But he wasn’t done! I turn towards the house and his parents are there, along with our closest family and friends from all over. If you’re wondering, yes I did cry profusely. We enjoyed a fantastic impromptu party after and have loved every minute of our engagement. To say Michael knocked it out of the park would be an understatement. And if you know him, you know he cannot handle surprises or keeping secrets and loves to give gifts early, so him keeping this under wraps was the world’s most impressive feat.
Now that the “yes” is over, it’s onto the “I Do’s”!
