We recommend sand sledding and sand boarding here! There is a shop that offers rentals before the entrance to the park.

The towns of Salida and Buena Vista are about 30 minutes away from each other. Both towns are fairly small but offer an array of local shops. (This is a great place to find rental gear for hiking, biking, etc.)

We recommend downloading the "All Trails" app to look up local trails in the area. Please note the elevation level of the area and pack water accordingly.

There are various fishing spots in the area including Cottonwood Lake and the Arkansas River. There are local guides that can be hired as well.
