One afternoon, Katie was looking through a dating app when she came across a photo of a Jeremy. First, she noticed his blue eyes and warm smile and thought that this was someone that she would like to get to know. As she scrolled through his photos and responses to the website prompts she could immediately tell that he was funny and had an infectious optimism about life. Something about his photos drew her to him like a magnetic field. But what really sealed the deal was a photo of him laughing while cooking broccoli. “Oh, he can cook?” she thought. That was all the information she needed; she swiped right.

That swipe turned into conversations through the app and later into phone calls. On their first phone call, Jeremy could tell that Katie was hilarious and easygoing. It seemed so natural. On their first date, he took her to a Mexican restaurant. Another big win in her book. Their first date was magical. Jeremy couldn’t believe how easy Katie was to talk to. They talked and laughed over delicious tacos. Typically, meeting a new person can be draining, however, both Katie and Jeremy left the restaurant feeling like they were full of energy and could conquer the world. Afterwards, Katie called her maid of honor, Kaitlin, and told her something about this guy was special. As Jeremy drove away from the restaurant, he was so full of joy that he could cry. He suspected he found the one for him.

Their second date was at a beautiful steakhouse, where things were almost derailed when Jeremy ordered a glass of milk! Despite this bizarre faux pas, they had an amazing time. After dinner, neither Jeremy nor Katie wanted the night to end, so they decided to go to Walmart to smell candles. The night ended with McDonald's cokes (Katie needed her diet coke fix) and sitting in the car talking and sharing their favorite music. It was a perfect night.

As the relationship progressed, both Katie and Jeremy realized they had something special together. For the first time they both felt that they could be themselves in a relationship. They cooked together, watched movies, went on dates, and every moment together was spent laughing about one thing or another. They shared stories about their past and dreams for their futures. They both realized that they did not want to go another day in life without the other by their side. It was effortless.

One day, on a trip to Niagara Falls, Jeremy proposed. Katie cried tears of joy in front of the falls with a rainbow overhead. Of course, she said yes.
