A perfect place to take in the ocean views and look at ridiculously gorgeous houses. Bring a blanket for a picnic and a book or simply walk around and enjoy the San Diego Sunshine.
One of San Diego must do’s! We have had some pretty cool experiences there from getting to hear the lion roar to watching the polar bears swim and play with their toys, there is always something new every time we go. Make sure to be prepared to walk- A LOT (also shout out to Mama LaPlant for taking our only picture at the zoo together but also cutting off the polar bear's head)
A gorgeous historical hotel on the island of Coronado and the drive over the bridge has a breathtaking view of the city skyline. Coronado has a cute main street for shopping and the hotel is always fun to explore. Make sure to ask about the historical figures who have stayed there and check out the fudge shop in the hotel-it’s Emily favorite.
Visiting the La Jolla seals is always a stop on our San Diego tour when we have visitors! Although the seals can be a little smelly, it's really cool to watch them hanging out on the cliffs. La Jolla is a beautiful neighborhood that we love to check out for brunch or a drink. The art galleries and the window shopping are a great way to spend the day.
While it’s not Fenway, watching the Padres at Petco Park is always a fun time! We like to try to go at least once a year, the beer and food is well worth it! We both even took off work on a random Wednesday to see the Padres in the playoffs & they won! Don’t worry-we will always be Red Sox fans at heart.
While it's not Sonoma, Temecula can rival most of California's vineyards and is only an hour away from San Diego! There are bus tours you can find or take a leisurely drive out there, but make sure to check out Somerset, Callaway, Ponte, Wilson Creek or Fazeli Wineries!
About a 2 hour drive from San Diego, Palm Springs is one of our favorite places to visit in Southern California. The drive there is uniquely beautiful for those from the east coast who have never seen the desert before, the weather is in the 80s, and the spas are incredibly relaxing. The Palm Springs Airtram is well worth it, and there are many quality golf courses in the area.
California has both Disney Land and California Adventure (more adult friendly) and is about a 2 hour drive from San Diego or you can take the Amtrak into Anaheim! If you decide to visit California Adventure grab a ticket to the night water light show right when you get there! Make sure to ask Jeremy about the Disney App, he ensured we barely waited in any lines the entire time using it!
We also have an extensive list of favorite bars local and restaurants and love to give our recommendations! Please text us for any ideas, we love to share our neighborhood with visitors!
