It all began in the heart of Flemington, at a cozy little pizza place that would unknowingly become the backdrop of something unforgettable. That day felt like any other—until it wasn’t.
Our bosses had bought a specialty cake for me—Katja—to try. At least, I like to think it was just for me! It was delicious, rich and sweet, but I couldn’t finish the whole slice. And then, as if on cue, he walked in.
This handsome man—confident but kind, with eyes that stopped me mid-bite—strolled through the door. I greeted him with a smile, something in me lighting up without warning. I couldn’t stop watching him, wondering how someone like him had never crossed my path before. To my surprise, he made his way into the back kitchen—he worked there too. And somehow, we’d never met.
When he passed by again, I caught his attention and offered him the rest of my cake. I spoon-fed him a bite and teased, “You should have more.” Maybe food was my secret love language, or maybe I just wanted an excuse to make him smile. Whatever it was, it worked. We talked on and off throughout the night, and every word felt like a spark.
I was texting my friends in real time: “There’s a total cutie at work. I need his number—STAT.”
As fate would have it, our bosses wanted Jeremy to work the next day. He hesitated. But I’d be working too—so I found a way to convince him to come in. I wasn’t ready for this little magic moment between us to fade away.
That next shift, we talked as much as we could. I asked him question after question, like I was trying to learn every part of who he was in one night. It was easy with him—natural, like we were already writing the first chapter of something bigger.
Before the shift ended, I asked for his Snapchat—and the rest, as they say, is history.
We’ve been talking every single day since the summer of 2018.
Since then, we’ve lived through what feels like a lifetime of memories—some challenging, many beautiful—but through it all, one thing has never changed: our deep, unwavering love for life together.
There is no one else in the world I’d rather walk beside than Jeremy. We’re truly two peas in a pod. We lift each other when the world feels heavy, and we love each other with a passion that never fades.
Here’s to all the memories that will live forever in our hearts—
And to a love that will last until eternity.
