Our Wedding

From Mount Union to Arkansas to Kansas, and back… We met in the same location as Laura’s parents while attending college at The University of Mount Union. We found commonplace in our lack of talent in our respective sports and enthusiasm for Busch Light and having a good time. But the good times don’t always have to come to an end. After college Jeremy accepted a job that immediately sent him to work in Iowa and then Wisconsin. We knew we should try and make it work. Laura was still working in Dover for an accounting firm but after 2 months away we planned a trip to meet in Indianapolis. Jeremy snuck away after completing a night shift working 6 day 12 hour shifts so we could have our first date in nearly 2 months. It was this weekend that he finally grew some courage to admit what seemingly everyone knew, that he was madly in love with Laura. After that we would continue to meet at various Midwest cities sometimes with friends tagging along for a weekend in Chicago; or, an extended trip in La Crosse, Wisconsin to end up getting snowed into a rundown college rental Jeremy chose to live in to save his money (equipped with cardboard furniture and an air mattress). But it wasn’t until Jeremy was transferred to Arkansas for a 1-year assignment that we decided to take our next step. He came back to Ohio for a week, bought a trailer, loaded up Laura’s apartment and started ”Heading South” for a new adventure in Arkansas. We loved Arkansas. The mixture of natural surroundings and food/beverage was everything we needed. In honesty we didn’t want to leave but we knew the assignment had an end date that would come. But before we left, we took another step in our relationship. We rescued our forever puppy Ms. Iris Mabel.&nbsp;Anyone who knows us probably knows Iris because she is always with us in the back seat of the truck on our many road trips back to Ohio to visit our friends and family. The week after getting Iris, we loaded up the trailer another time and took a short trip North to Kansas City for what we thought was another short stay. We immediately fell in love with the city with the help of our college friends that lived there and making new friends every week. We enjoyed trying all the BBQ places you can name, along with just as many breweries and patios. Anytime the Cleveland teams were in town we would quickly lose that KC love and get back to our roots cheering on the Indians and Browns. Living in the middle of the country allowed us to easily travel to many states including Texas, Arizona, Colorado and Montana to name a few. After a couple years we felt like a sense of home in this town and we bought a house. With early intentions of buying the house and fixing it up instead of just sitting in our apartment being bored, we quickly fell in love with the life we made on 157th Terrace. We loved having all our friends and families coming out to visit us and enjoy the new city we called home; but, the distance from them never grew shorter. Then, in 2021 the next step of our lives happened. Jeremy was working during the week in Southern Missouri traveling the 6 hours back and forth every Friday and Monday while Laura was working her career in Kansas City still. The distance between us reminded Jeremy of our times traveling to meet up back when we were both dumb kids trying to figure life out. Then, on one June weekend, Jeremy had to work a few Saturdays and wouldn’t be able to come home for a 3-week span. So, we decided to meet midway in St. Louis for a night. Laura packed up baby Iris and drove east to meet at the Union Station Hotel on Saturday night after Jeremy finished a shift. On that night Jeremy finally grew the courage to do something he’d been wanting to and that seemingly everyone knew he should do. He asked Laura to marry him. But our greatest step so far would happen shortly after that. The following February we welcomed to the world the love of our lives, our son Whit Christopher. He has brought us everything we didn’t know we needed in our lives. While back in KC our family would make the trip and travel out to see the new baby; but them leaving never got easier. We tried to make it home for any holiday but now we couldn’t just load the truck and drive through the middle of the night to Ohio for a long weekend, these things took planning now. It became harder and harder to see our family goodbye to Whit and us after being together for a few days at a time. This led us to taking another step. In March of this year, we sold our home of 6 years in Kansas City and started the process of moving our new family back to Ohio to be with all our friends and family. True to fashion we had to take one last pit stop and load the trailer once again. Jeremy is working at the same power plant he left that Saturday in June to propose. We are currently living in Cape Girardeau, MO attempting to raise a toddler and finish planning a wedding. We hope to be fully moved back to Ohio in August before the wedding. That will be the last step of this story but only the beginning of the rest of our lives. We can’t wait to finally celebrate with you all this August, back home, in Ohio.&nbsp;

A block of rooms have been reserved through the below link. If calling to reserve just mention our names while making the reservation. There will be a shuttle service from this hotel to the venue at the following times: 3:30pm, 3:50pm &amp; 4:10pm. There will be a shuttle service from the venue to the hotel starting at 9pm and will continue until 11:30pm. *Vehicles can be left at the venue overnight if needed but must be picked up the next morning
