Northeast Tennessee, Southwest Virginia, and Northwest North Carolina are easily accessible from Johnson City via Interstate 26. During the fall season, visitors frequently travel to this region to appreciate the stunning mountains and their extraordinary fall colors. Constructed in 1895, the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, North Carolina, was designed by George Vanderbilt to provide a serene retreat for his family and friends. The estate remains under private ownership by Vanderbilts descendants. Visitors can enjoy a picturesque drive through the mountains to reach the estate, in approximately one hour in duration.
