Every love story has its plot twists — ours just comes with a healthy dose of laughter, long chats, and a few “Wait, did that really happen?” moments. Two people on different paths, minding their own business, until life decided it was time to stir things up a bit.

Meet Jinju Mariyam James, a.k.a. Litty — the daughter of late Mr D. James and Mrs Juliet. Growing up, she was that student who somehow managed to win both the quiz competition and the sports meet (and still had time to draw a perfect poster for the art contest). A multitasker by birth and a perfectionist by nature, Litty had a knack for making everything look effortless—even when it wasn’t!—except waking up early on Mondays.

After completing her Master’s degree, she joined Accenture Pvt. Ltd. as a Drug Safety Associate, where she still manages to juggle reports, emails, and coffee cups like a pro. With her talent, determination, and coffee-fuelled energy, she quickly moved up the ranks. Her mom, Juliet, is her forever cheerleader, and her brother, Jiju (along with his wife, Laiby, who wisely escaped to the UK), is her biggest cheerleader — and occasional reality checker.

Enter Jerrin C. Mathews, fondly called Sony (yes, like the brand — and yes, he’s heard all the jokes). The firstborn of Mr Mathews (Saji) and Mrs Elcy, Sony was the classic “good kid”—quiet, polite, and studious, known for his calm nature and occasional bursts of overthinking. He completed his schooling at OEM Public School and Christ Central School.

He then headed to Chennai for college — where he not only survived the food but also earned his degree from The Tamil Nadu Dr. MGR Medical University. After working for over three years at Dr. Rela Institute and Medical Centre, he decided it was time for the next adventure. He packed his bags (and too many snacks) and moved to the UK to pursue his Master’s in Global Healthcare Management from Coventry University. His younger sister, Merrin Anna Mathews, makes sure to keep him humble (and well-updated on family gossip).

Now, here’s where things get interesting. Litty was busy excelling at work and binge-watching shows in her free time, while Sony was trying to understand British weather and why “tea” sometimes meant dinner. Somewhere between their different time zones and coffee preferences, fate decided it was time to stir things up.

Picture two busy professionals, living their best lives on different continents — until fate (and maybe a few well-placed introductions) decided to play matchmaker. What started as casual conversations quickly turned into something special. Before long, those chats got longer, the smiles got wider, and “just checking in” became “can’t wait to talk again.”

Somewhere between sharing memes, arguing over food choices, and discovering how eerily similar their Netflix tastes were, they realised this was something more. A lot more.

They say opposites attract — and that’s probably true — but in our case, it’s more like compliments attract: Litty brings the energy, and Sony brings the calm. She’s the spark; he’s the steady flame. Together, they somehow balance each other out perfectly.

And so, after countless conversations, shared dreams, and a few “You hang up first” moments, here we are—ready to turn a wonderful starting into a lifetime of love, laughter, and endless inside jokes.
