We first met after matching on a dating app in 2018. Kevin had just graduated and Jess was in the final stretch of her senior year. We went on a few dates before deciding to stay friends during transitional times in our lives. Fast forward a year and both of us ended up single again within weeks of each other. We decided to meet up as friends to catch up. It didn’t take long for us to realize that it would be worth it to give ourselves another chance to be more than friends.
For the first year of our relationship we lived an hour and a half apart but made the most out of only seeing each other on the weekends. After only three months of dating, we decided to take a road trip together to Richmond, Charlotte, and Nashville. Not many would go on a 10 day road trip so early in a relationship, and Jess’s mom said it would be a great test to see if Kevin was a keeper. Needless to say it worked out!
In February 2020, Kevin moved back out to eastern Mass just in time for the pandemic to start. While only 7 minutes apart, that next year and a half involved a lot of ordering takeout and date nights in playing Mario Kart and Rummy.
In the summer of 2021 we moved in together in Foxborough and took another road trip together to the Outer Banks. The following summer in 2022, we took a trip to Napa Valley where Kevin proposed at Stags’ Leap Winery overlooking the vineyard while a cameraman hid behind a tree ready to capture the moment.
As we continue to grow together, we brought home our puppy, Dublin, last December, who keeps our days busy and our hearts full. We purchased a house in Attleboro, MA where Jess continues to teach in a school district she loves and where Dublin will have a backyard to run to his heart’s content.
