Ben &amp; Jess met the kind of way that makes you believe in timing. It was the summer of 2023, and they ended up at a mutual friend’s birthday party—one they both almost skipped. Jess noticed Ben right away; he had this calm confidence that stood out. Ben was drawn to Jess’s fun and free spirited attitude. They hit it off talking about everything from music to their dogs and left that night with a crush. A few weeks later, Ben asked Jess out—dinner at her favorite restaurant followed by her favorite artist’s concert. Between the great food, the music, and what felt like the world’s longest (and best) walk home, they both knew something special had started. From then on, they were inseparable—bonding over food, music, animals, and time with friends. Ben got Jess into movies and sports, and she introduced him to skiing and music festivals. She even got him to watch a little anime. It didn’t take long before they both knew this was the real thing. After two years together, Ben planned the perfect proposal. He made dinner reservations at a restaurant they’d been wanting to try, then suggested watching the sunset—something Jess had been hinting at all summer. When they arrived at the beach from their date, Jess saw a trail of candles leading to a blanket on the sand as the sun set over the lake. That’s where their next chapter began.
