It was a sunny Friday afternoon in early 2018 when out of the blue, Jess received a text from a guy named Rob. She'd been out of the dating game for a long time and had no clue what to say but somehow managed to come up with a reply.
Jess wasn't looking for love... she'd been content for about 10 years in the company of Trinity and her cat. Rob, on the other hand, was looking for someone to settle down with.
Over the next few weeks they messaged and talked on the phone before meeting in person. Jess had just flown back from a weekend in Melbourne and as she didn't have a lot of spare time, she reluctantly invited Rob to her house - very trusting for her, but given how Rob got her number, she figured it would be okay.
They got to know each other more over the next few weeks and on April 1st became a couple. Rob had no idea what the date was and Jess only remembered because of the date.
Their first overseas holiday was in Fiji to celebrate Jess' 40th birthday, then Rob popped the question in Fiji a few years later, so it was only fitting that's where they will get married and start the next chapter of their lives together.
