We have opted to a courthouse wedding! We will announce a celebration at a later date once determined! We appreciate everything!
We met through mutual friends during the fall of 2019. After months of them telling us we would get along great, we reluctantly met up at Steak n' Shake.
Although we did not hit it off right away, our group managed to become pretty much inseparable during the summer of 2020.
That summer was filled with many late night movies and video games, early mornings fishing, and plenty of random driving with no destination.
During our three year friendship, we created some irreplaceable memories. None of which have any photographic proof. We remained friends up until March of 2022.
Sometime at the beginning of March, both of us sat together as we watched a show neither of us can recall now. David initiated the conversation by saying he was madly in love with Jess and had been since 2020. Jess said she had been waiting on him to make a move.
Pretty much from that day forward, we have been inseparable. We started having more family nights which each family. Jess's first dinner with the Cobb's resulted in David antagonizing Alley and Keri, and then Alley and Keri wrestling to the ground. David's first dinner with Randi was watching 'Criminal Minds' and being asked if he could change a light bulb because both Jess and Randi are too short.
On March 24, 2022, David finally took Jess on a date to Longhorns, and we watched the stars at Flat Creek.
Since that day, our lives have been filled with happy memories and fun adventures.
If anyone knows Jess, they know she loves pictures. If anyone knows David, they know he hates getting his picture taken.
Jess graduated from college and had been begging David to take professional pictures for months. He agreed when Jess scheduled graduation pictures for our favorite place.
Jekyll Island.
Jess had told the photographer to find some places they wanted to shoot, after some options had been thrown out, we went around the island to scope out the beach spots. A storm was headed our way as we came to St. Andrew's beach at the south end of the island. There was a beautiful trail and wildlife tower that we ended up in. As Jess complained that she didn't like this beach, but loved the trail, David got down on one knee.
It should be noted here, that David never actually asked Jess to marry him until hours later at the hotel room. He actually said "Will you take accept this ring?"
Jess started crying and said yes. As she said yes, the storm came and thunder and lightening came around us.
Instead of savoring the moment, David said, "let's leave before we get struck" and hurried down the stairs and to the car. Where he finally let Jess take a picture.
