Both of us have been through our share of relationships and nothing ever seemed to fit… now we realize that God was building each of us into the perfect partner for the other.

I’m not sure how many people know this, but Dani and I actually bartended at the same little dive bar in Long Beach, CA about a year apart, over 15 years ago. I like to think that we’ve always been each other's person, so God was allowing us to enter each other's orbit back then, but it wasn’t the right time to find each other just yet.

We officially met one night at the Maverick, and I knew something was different the moment I saw her. Although it took a few months before our lives would really align, I think we both felt there was something there-- but neither of us expected things to happen like they did.

After the first kiss I knew I would marry her. It sounds cliché but it's true. I used to tell a similar story about a friend finding his future wife (yes you, Bill & Jen :-) and knowing he would marry her right away. I remember thinking how lucky he was.. and how rare that must be. I can't believe I am sitting here typing that the same thing happened to me.

Sometimes there are moments in life where you just realize you were doing something wrong-- or finally realizing how to do something right. Thats how life felt once I found Dani and the boys. Like I finally understood what my purpose was, what joy was... what love was.

These last two years have been beyond our wildest dreams and we can't wait to create memories and milestones for many years to come.

Whether you are coming from near or far, or if you will just be there in spirit, know that you have made a difference to us. You are forever a part of our journey and are so grateful you will be watching us take these next steps together.
