It all started simply with a movie. I (Jess) had been texting one night with my bestie about how badly I wanted to go see the movie Sound of Freedom, and this was the worst part about being single. Not having someone to just say “hey let’s go see a movie together”. But I did say in that same conversation that I knew God had me in this season for a reason, and I trusted him. If I was never to get married I was okay with that. I was truly happy with where I was.

Fast forward to waking up the next day, I get a text from a new friend Rebecca, inviting me to a group gathering to go see the movie! With a bunch of people I had never met. So of course I said yes! Cause 2023 I had determined was going to be a year of saying yes, and getting out of my comfort zone. We were all meeting at her house before the movies for dinner, and she wasn’t even going to be there yet. So let’s make me even more anxious. Well, to my surprise I am greeted by the kindest, happiest man there is. (This is where he says he opens the door and he sees the most beautiful woman in the world. My favorite part of him telling the story.)

To make it more interesting, he quickly realizes he recognizes me…well ladies and gentlemen that’s because we had matched on hinge the dating site a few months prior, and well he dropped the ball. But, he’s all in God’s perfect timing. He smoothly got my number after the movies, texted me that evening and we never stopped. We quickly went on our first date (only ever order breakfast at Frost Diner), which ended with ice cream at Carousel, and the rest has been the most amazing love story.
