If you're staying in Key West for a few days, below are some of our recommendations of things to do.
If you're interested in water activities such as visiting sandbars, dolphin watching, snorkeling, sunset sailing, fishing excursions, jet skiing, kayaking, and more, we recommend making reservations directly through The Perry Hotel.
If you want to enjoy a traditional beach or see a historical landmark, we recommend visiting this state park. They offer tours of the fort that was headquarters for the U.S. Navy’s East Gulf Coast blockade squadron during the Civil War. The beach is open to the public and has various rentals available. Please note it's a coral beach so shoes are recommended.
The public beaches in Key West are Higgs Beach, Smather's Beach and Simonton Beach Key West. Fort Zachary is also public but has a fee to enter since it's a state park.
Key West Golf Club is the only golf course on the island and is a full service facility offering rental clubs, a driving range, PGA Professional instruction, a fully stocked Pro Shop and dining options. It's located very close to The Perry Hotel on the other side of the main highway.
They offer free distillery tours and tastings, and have a great piña colada.
A family-friendly activity where you can see not only beautiful butterflies, but also flamingos, turtles and other animals. It's a cute place to stop by and near the Southernmost Point!
One of the most iconic bars in Key West! You have to go just to say you went. They have live music from 10:30am - 2am and those under 21 can enter until 9:30pm.
A classic tourist stop. We recommend walking over to see it after eating at Seaside Cafe at the Mansion and then grabbing a drink at the Southernmost Point Bar instead of waiting in line.
Another classic tourist stop. Mallory Square hosts a Sunset Celebration 2 hours before sunset each day. The square becomes filled with performers, vendors and live music. If you can handle crowds it's worth experiencing once!
