John and Jessica met in 2014 when they both worked in Trenton at the Department of Community Affairs. They hated their jobs, but liked each other :)

It took a while for John to work up the courage to ask Jess on a date - in fact, it was actually their co-worker who made the first move on John's behalf, and called up Jess at her desk on a Friday morning to ask if she had any plans that night, and would she like to go to a Mets game with John?

Jess said yes despite the fact that she had no change of clothes, no where to get ready, and plans early the next morning. Thankfully it all worked out and the rest is history.
