We both worked at the Dinning Commons in San Jose State. The singular incident that brought a spark into our lives was a particular night I was closing with her. In that night I was working in the kitchen making a large batch of pizza dough and Jessica was working the ovens station. This particular night Jessica was looking awfully mean in her oversized white chefs coat. The strong and focused look she had that night caught my eye. Having decided to get her attention I switched the radio station to country because I had heard that was the lates she was into. Given our work stations were in the same vicinity I hoped she would notice the music but when that did not work I opted to take a more direct approach. When she was alone watching the ovens I took a small piece of dough and flung it at her. When the little piece of dough hit her she got startled, the sudden shock was enough to break her mean face and make her smile when she realized it was me.
Throwing things at a girl you like is usually not enough to get her to like you back but it surely helps to get you noticed. The next time I made my move while we were studying at the library and the rest is history.
