September 15, 2024 • Skiathos, Greece

We have always loved Greece! After having a few holidays to the different islands the vibe, people and beautiful scenery we just loved it. When Jess recently visited Skiathos it felt like the one! Known as the Mamma Mia island we hope you love it as much as we do.

We want to be as transparent as possible and hope these answer some of your questions but if not you know where we are!

How do I get there?

Leeds Bradford - JET 2 fly direct Wednesday + Saturday.... Manchester - TUI fly direct Mon, Tues, Wed + Friday.. Birmingham - JET 2 fly direct Tues, Wed, Fri + Sunday... Stanstead - JET 2 fly direct Mon, Wed, Friday, Saturday... For our International guests...................................... Athens is your first stop with flights from there to Skiathos daily.

Whats the most affordable option?

At the moment, flights if purchased separately are quite expensive. It seems that going for a package holiday via Jet2 or TUI are your best options. Small deposit on the package holidays are a bonus too - so get booking!!

Are all the events a must?

No of course not! We understand and absolutely appreciate its a big ask from our guests to travel abroad for our wedding. While we would love for you to be a part of as much as possible , please attend those events you can!

What is Skiathos like for getting around?

Great! There is a public bus that runs from Skiathos old Town (bus stop number 0) to Koukanaries Beach (number 26). The Elivi hotel (our wedding venue) is situated at Bus Stop 26 but if you wanted to make the most of Skiathos old Town we would suggest staying a little closer. The cost for the bus is 3,50 for a longer one way journey or 2,00 for 5-7 stops. There is also water taxis! Some hotels on the coast will have a water taxi pick up every 30 minutes from the beach and go direct to the Old Town - 3,50.

Where would you recommend to stay?

As every persons holiday requirements and budgets are different its hard to recommend the best resorts. The island has a lovely mix of 4 and 5 star resorts plus self catering apartments. There are lots of nooks and crannies' to be explored with beaches up and down the coast. As the transport is so easy, we would recommend ensuring your accommodation is walkable to a bus stop / water taxi

Is it expensive?

Generally we didn't think so.. Our advice would be to take advantage of the happy hour drinks + local gyros but check out the photo page for some more information !
