Our Story

In February of 2018, Jess and Dock started talking online on Tinder. They only talked for a few days before they knew they had to meet in person. Their first date was at a taco joint in Greensboro, NC called Crafted. They made an instant connection with one another talking about things they both loved like dogs, classic rock music, motorcycles and more. Dock shared about his life growing up in North Carolina and Jess told Dock all about the far off land of New Jersey. After their first date, they were both hooked.

On March 17, 2018, St. Patrick's Day, they officially started dating which felt like the best of luck. Dock attended many sorority formals with Jess as she finished up her career in school at HPU.

Jess graduated from HPU in May of 2019 with Dock at her side. They moved in together in an apartment in High Point, NC the next day and Jess, Dock and Hank (Dock's dog) were ready for their next adventure of starting a life together.

Jess continued to attend school at HPU to earn her master's degree and Dock supported her throughout the entire process. Throughout Jess's schooling and all of their many job changes as a couple, they have always supported one another and had each others backs.

In January of 2020, Jess and Dock very impulsively went and adopted their second dog, Cuervo. They were really starting to feel like they were building a family together.

Shortly after that, covid hit and they were quarantined together with the boys for several months. They came out the other side of covid a stronger couple than they had ever been before.

In July of 2021, they moved out of the apartment into their first home together in Winston Salem, NC where they still live together today. They could not be happier to have a big yard for the dogs and lots of garage space for Dock's cars and motorcycles.

One year later on July 8, 2023, the day after Jess's birthday, Dock proposed. They were on the beach in Hilton Head surrounded by both of their families and the dogs. Fun fact, they were not far from the spot where Jess's parents got engaged. Celebrations and phone calls ensued and a few months later, it was time to start planning a wedding!

In April 2023, they got their third dog, Waylon. He is definitely the nuisance of the house, but because of their great love for dogs they don't mind too much.

Now, 6 years later, they are ready to make it official! They already feel like they are married but are so excited to seal the deal surrounded by their family and friends.
