Jacob knew what he was doing when he asked me to put sunscreen on his back!
What was your most memorable date?
Our first dating anniversary, Jacob planned the entire night. He wanted to show me the cliffs of La Jolla and then take me to a fancy dinner at Eddie Vs. Things didn't exactly go according to plan, as the cliffs ended up being closed. We decided to walk the beach instead and talked the day away as the wind blew out my curls. I was a mess by the time we got to the (very fancy) restaurant, where they actually mistook Jake for someone else and gave us a perfect ocean view and an upgraded table. We got a free dessert (the best banana foster either of us have ever tasted) and enjoyed the sunset together. It was perfectly imperfect.
What's your favorite activity together?
Jake and I's favorite days are when there is nothing on the calendar and we get cozy on the couch to watch movies together.
How did he propose?
Christmas is huge in my family. We go all out every season and it's always my favorite time of the year. The cousins always do a secret Santa amongst ourselves, and this would be the first year Jake was actually allowed to take part. By some miracle, he actually drew my name! I had zero idea about that, but the night before, I had my suspicions he was planning to pop the question on the holiday. He assured me "I promise I won't propose on Christmas! I wouldn't want to ruin your favorite holiday!" He really had me fooled, as the next night, I was surprised not only by the fact that he was my secret Santa, but also by the ring in the butter dish he got me! He proposed in front of my entire family, and technically never lied, as it was Christmas Eve, and not actually Christmas!
