It all started in Music City - Nashville, TN over Memorial Day Weekend in 2017.
Jessica was there with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette party and Chris was also there with a group of guys, on less official business.
There are a lot of people to thank who were present, but a special shout out to Will Chrystal for dragging a group of guys to "The Stage" to meet his friends from high school. Fortunately, Chris was one of the guys.
Let's just say it was love at first sight...for one of them. Chris saw Jess in her "Cubby Blue Romper" (great choice in color) and couldn't help but admire how much fun she was having with her magnetic personality. Among the many pickup lines Chris tried to use, one held up against the test of time. "I'm going to marry your friend," Chris said to Lea, one of Jessica's bridesmaids. Jess was much too busy having fun with her friends to focus on this boy's advances; therefore, they left Nashville without so much as trading phone numbers.
Luckily, the story doesn't end there. Fate has a way of intervening and apparently Jess and Chris enjoy a lot of the same things such as Stout (RIP), Boss Bar (RIP soon, let's be honest), and most importantly - funny Snapchat posts. After running into each other at multiple bars, they FINALLY traded numbers. They became friends on social media platforms and like every modern love story they started flirting online before finally deciding to meet for a date.
Fate helped out quite a bit yet again; however, this was one of the worst first dates either of them had been on. It started out in the romance capital of Old Town, Benchmark, before they moved on to meet Chris' work happy hour at Fireplace Inn. Somehow, enough fun was had up until then that the two agreed to finish the night with some Jet's Pizza at Chris' House. Jess decided to call it a night right before the delivery. As she left, the pizza delivery man was just arriving. Jessica, always one to think quickly on her feet, happily claimed the pizza from the delivery driver. She said, "Yep, I'm Chris Kosrow" and swiftly left in her Uber with pizza in tow.
It wasn't quite a clean getaway though, as the pizza guy had already called Chris to have him come retrieve the pizza. When Chris arrived downstairs to claim the pizza, he realized Jessica and the pizza were gone. Confused Chris thought there was no way this sweet girl he went on a date with would steal his pizza. He called Jess and trusted her when she said she didn't see the pizza man. Meanwhile, her and her Uber driver were enjoying a slice on Lakeshore drive.
The next day, Chris texted Jess to say I'm still so confused about the pizza. Jessica came clean and admitted to stealing it (in the form of a GIF of Beyonce). If that doesn't set the tone for what has always been an amazingly fun relationship full of hijinx, what would.
Fast forward far to too many Jet's Pizzas, Cubs games, vacations, weddings, and date nights, these two have created a beautiful life together in Chicago with the most awesome group of shared friends and adventures.
They are looking forward to starting this next chapter together as husband and wife.
Mahalo for sharing the journey with them.
