Their paths first crossed over seven years ago at Cucina, a small Italian restaurant in Kohler, WI. Brett was a bartender, and Jessica was a server; a tale as old as time. At first, they didn't get along all that well and mostly kept their distance.

In the summer of 2021, Jessica moved away from home and spent 6 months working in Alaska. When she returned home, things between the two began to feel different. They started spending more time together and gradually became friends.

That friendship turned into something more on August 9, 2022, at the Wisconsin State Fair. They finally took the time to really talk and connect, and by the end of the night, it was clear there was something special.

Their first official date came a month later, on September 9, 2022, when Brett asked Jessica out to a cozy little restaurant (though she didn't realize it was a date at the time!).

In October 2023, Jessica, along with her cat, Mr. Pickles, moved into Brett's apartment, and they began building a life together. Then, in June 2025, they bought their first home together, a place that quickly became filled with love, laughter, and a few too many plants.

On September 12, 2025, while camping to celebrate their anniversary, on a secluded beach under a beautiful sunset, Brett got down on one knee and proposed... and she said YES!

Now, on October 3, 2026, they are ready to celebrate the next chapter of their story, surrounded by family, friends, and the people who have been part of their journey so far.
