In February of 2023 Jessica, began running with the Varsity crew. Jessica met Ryan on a Wasted Wednesday run on the corner of Hundred Oaks and Acadian. She remembers seeing him and talking to him, along with a few other people, after the run. Jessica became friends with many people from the Varsity crew, Ryan included.

In June of 2023 they began running together more often, playing Volleyball together and hanging out. Fast forward to July 9th 2023, not long after they began hanging out, everything came so easy and they started dating. They have been running together and enjoying life ever since then! On October 13, 2024, the day of the Chicago Marathon, Ryan asked Jessica to marry him.
