Our story technically began in August 2014 when we met as bridesmaids in a mutual friend’s wedding in Pittsburgh. After the wedding, we started following each other on social media, like any new friend would do. Over the next few years our mutual friend Rachael kept us updated on each other’s lives.

Almost a decade later in January 2023, Jessica and her Arkansas friends came to visit Rachael in Pittsburgh.

Rachael of course invited Dana to come hang out, and within minutes it was like no time had passed. It was instant.

Jessica flew back to Pittsburgh a month later and from that point on, we entered our long-distance era…a blur of flights, FaceTimes, and increasingly dramatic goodbyes.

By July of 2023, we started making plans for Jessica to move to Pittsburgh, knowing it would take about a year to uproot everything and move across the country!

Then in May 2024 in Fayetteville, somehow we both independently decided it was Proposal Time. Without telling each other. Without coordinating. We both planned a proposal in front of our families at Sassafras Winery. Not only did everyone know but us, we ended up proposing the exact same way.

In July 2024, Jessica moved to Pittsburgh and our life together officially began! On January 5, 2025 we decided to get hitched in an intimate ceremony with our families. We then decided we still wanted to do the whole vows and party thing because after all that long distance effort, it felt right to celebrate properly with friends and family!

Our relationship timeline may be unusual, but to us it makes perfect sense. Our forever that will last a lifetime! Thank you for being here to celebrate with us. 🥂
