Downtown Pittsburgh is home to many great restaurants and bars. If you are up for something active, we recommend walking or biking along the rivers (bikes are available for rent throughout the city). The views are stunning!
Experience what has been called one of the 10 most beautiful views in America from the observation deck on Mount Washington! While riding the Duquesne Incline, you’ll get a breathtaking panoramic view of Pittsburgh and its three famous rivers: the Allegheny, Ohio, and Monongahela. For another option, the Monongahela incline is open as well!
The University of Pittsburgh's most famous and beloved building is the Cathedral of Learning (AKA, Cathy!). Walk through the main floor where all of the classrooms are known as Nationality Rooms, as each one embodies a unique culture. Or, take the elevator up to the 36th floor, where you can peer out the windows and see the city views. The Cathedral is 535 feet tall, 42 stories, and has 2,529 windows!
Phipps is a botanical garden located in Schenley Park, and is a short walk from Pitt's campus! Phipps encompasses 15 acres including the historic 14-room glasshouse and 23 distinct gardens.
