Thanks to Maurice’s two best matchmakers, after nearly a year of trying to get us in the same room together, we were introduced in late summer 2024 at the world-famous City Bar Maurice. Jess is always quick to point out that we “technically” met there, but our first real date was a few days later—and we’ve been inseparable ever since.

From day one, the connection between us was instant, effortless, and natural. Our first year together has been filled with our love of family, obsessing over our dogs— both in memory and here with us: Mardi, Justice, Tchoup, and Trace— our love of all things LSU and Texas Tech (Geaux Tigahs and Wreck ’em Tech!), and our ongoing debate over who is the better cook (Corey reluctantly admits Jess is the winner here). It has been such a simple yet powerful love that swept over us in such a short period of time. We feel as though we’ve known each other forever, and it’s so easy for us to be our complete selves with one another.

We are endlessly thankful—for the friendships that set our story in motion, for families who welcomed each of us into their fold without hesitation, and for the winding path that led us into each other’s lives. God has a way of giving us exactly what we need at the moment we least expect it!
