By the time Jessica and Matthew get married in October, they will have known each other for 15 years. They grew up in neighboring towns and went to Riverside Brookfield High School together (he insists that she didn’t know who he was, but she insists otherwise). Despite having overlapping friend groups as teenagers, they didn’t actually get to know each other better until after college in 2017, when a fateful text from Matthew opened the door to friendship.
They instantly bonded over a shared sense of humor and were a couple by the end of 2017. Since then, they’ve traveled all over and have enjoyed activities like hiking among the fall foliage in New England, smoking cigars in Cuba, and eating al pastor in Mexico City. They love and appreciate time at home, too, and moved in together in 2020. Their favorite moments together are not grand gestures of romance or expensive meals - they are the simple moments in life like cooking dinner together and watching movies late into the night.
Their love has continued to grow each and every year, and in November of 2022, they returned to the spot of their first date - Brewpoint Coffee in Elmhurst, IL. It’s a running joke in their relationship that Matthew never officially asked Jessica to be his girlfriend - but it was at that coffee shop where he asked a much more important question. They were engaged that day and cant wait to celebrate their marriage with all of their closest family and friends.
