"It all started in Grade 8 during a bonspiel..." - Seth

"STOOOOOOP" - Jessica

Ok ok, while the two did cross paths during a grade 8 curling bonspiel, and they wish they could tell a tale of epic romance at first sight, that's not exactly what happened. The first time the two had a conversation with one another was during a program out on Vancouver Island called Kaleo. Through this shared experience a friendship was born. However, it wasn't until after Kaleo that the two grew closer. A group of friends from Kaleo regularly planned adventurous excursions and these provided opportunities for them to get to know each other better and develop a lighthearted friendship.

From these events, Seth started to appreciate Jessica's witty humour, humble spirit and wise character. In the Summer of 2022, Seth started going to Manitou Lake Bible Camp when he had weekends off from his summer landscaping job. These were strictly 'volunteer' trips that 110% didn't have anything to do with the fact that Jessica was working there that summer. Seth Briggs (camp director) graciously saw past these ulterior motives and encouraged visitations that summer.

Through countless interactions and many opportunities for conversation, they began to develop a deep love for each other. Like a classy man, Seth decided to express these feelings with Jessica at camp by the cabin washrooms on Canada Day of that summer (Paris might have been a bit of a step up from this escapade). Over the rest of the summer, Seth and Jessica continued to talk and began dating at the end of the summer. While the two have spent lots of time long-distance dating, they have appreciated the opportunity this has given to discuss important values in life.

That brings us here today. At the place where it all started, Manitou Lake Bible Camp.
