Q + A

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR TO THE WEDDING?

**We ask all of our guests to wear black.** For our big day we ask that you step it up a notch! We will have the rest of the trip to lean into the casual beachy vibes. The ceremony + reception will be held in the jungle and dinner will be served in an open air "indoor" space. Ladies: A solid black cocktail dress, midi, maxi would be perfect! Guys: We recommend a black suit or tuxedo. Ties optional! As the night goes on, no shoes- no problem :)

WHAT IF I DON'T RSVP IN TIME?

If you do not RSVP by Dec. 1 2024, you will be marked as "not attending". We would love to celebrate with you, however, we have to provide an exact guest count to our vendors for food, drink and seating and cannot accommodate late RSVPs.

CAN I BRING A PLUS ONE?

We are only able to accommodate the guests who are formally invited and listed on the RSVP. When you RSVP, you will see each person included in your party. Please note that if one member RSVPs "No," their spot will not be transferred as a "+1." Thank you so much for understanding!

IS THIS A KID FRIENDLY WEDDING?

We love and adore your little ones, but we have decided to keep our ceremony and reception adults-only. We encourage you to use this as a fun vacation to relax and unwind! We understand the effort it takes to make arrangements, and we greatly appreciate it. It means the world to us to have you celebrate with us!

DO I NEED A PASSPORT?

YES! Check to see if your passport is VALID and not EXPIRED. To be safe, renew your passport if it expires within the 6 month window of the wedding.

DO WE BRING GIFTS TO TULUM?

No. Your presence at our destination wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you still feel inclined to give, know that it’s completely optional and we’re just excited to celebrate with you.

WHAT TIME SHOULD I ARRIVE TO THE CEREMONY?

We recommend that you arrive at least 20-30 minutes before our 5:00pm ceremony time. This gives us enough time to be on schedule!

HOW DO I GET TO THE CEREMONY?

On the day of our wedding, we recommend arranging a driver to take you to the venue. Even if it's a close walk, we want to make sure no one feels like walking is the only option—no need to work up a sweat before the celebration! Wedding Ceremony + Reception Location: Ambre Epices Villa | C. 3 Pte. entre Calle 12 Sur, La Veleta, 77760 Tulum, Q.R., Mexico

WHAT FORMS OF PAYMENT ARE ACCEPTED IN TULUM?

Most bars, restaurants, and stores accept credit cards! However, you should carry cash for things like taxis, smaller purchases and tips. We recommend exchanging money ahead of time through your bank, but there are ATMs available in Tulum if needed. *Remember to alert your Credit Card company that you are traveling internationally*

WHAT IS THE EXCHANGE RATE?

The current exchange rate is ~17 MXN pesos = $1 US Dollar

CAN THE LOCALS SPEAK ENGLISH?

Yes! Well, mostly yes. Majority of taxi drivers, concierge, waiters and bartenders all speak English. Everyone we encountered on our trips to Tulum have been incredibly friendly, welcoming, accommodating and generally delightful. They know the beauty their town has to offer and they are happy to share it with us. Of course, it wouldn't hurt to brush up on your Spanish greetings and responses!

IS TULUM SAFE?

Tulum has the lowest crime rate in all of Mexico. The locals understand how much tourism boosts their economy and are very welcoming to travelers! Of course, you should exercise common sense when traveling in the Tulum area: lock your doors, keep your passport in a safe, be mindful of your valuables, etc. Basically be smart and use common sense.

HOW DO I GET AROUND TULUM?

Walking (on the beach or on the main road), there are bike or scooter rentals that are very popular and taxis are available! There is NO Uber in Tulum and we personally feel that they jack up the taxi prices.
