Sean's side: Our story started one evening in the kind of place you’d expect to find something beautiful and sacred: church. What I didn’t expect was to meet someone who would bring more joy into my life than I ever thought possible. I'd recently made some friends at the gym (yes, I lift...but more importantly, make connections in the sauna where real vulnerability happens), and it turns out they went to my church. That night, they showed up with someone new: Jessica Pasley.   When I saw Jess… I knew I was was in the kind of trouble you hope never ends. She was enchanting, but what really floored me wasn’t just how she looked - it was how she was. After the service, she went out of her way to say something life-giving and encouraging to one of my friends, someone she had just met moments before. I remember standing there asking, “God, thank you for letting an angel come down here. Now how do I keep her around forever?”   It took an entire week (which in early-crush years is roughly a decade) before I got a minute alone with her. We left church at the same time, and wouldn’t you know it - our cars were parked next to each other. I saw my chance, hit her with peak charm, and… she seemed entirely unmoved. Naturally, I kept going. Persistence paid off, and eventually she said yes to a date.   Our first “official” date? Breakfast burritos before church. Romantic? Questionable. Delicious and life-changing? Absolutely. Soon after, I left for New York City - but couldn’t stop thinking about her. Standing on Pier 26 at night, surrounded by skyscrapers and Frank Sinatra's spirit, I FaceTimed her and basically demanded, “Please date me.” And somehow…that worked too.   Since then, it’s been nonstop joy - faith, laughter, adventures, and falling deeper in love every day. Fast forward to March 27th, 2025, when I took her to Yosemite for a 9-mile hike with 4,000 feet of elevation gain (that I may have pitched to her as “moderate difficulty”). When we finally reached the top with the entire valley stretched out before us, I got my knee dirty and asked her the easiest question I’ve ever asked. She said “yes”.

Jess’s side: It was March 26, 2024, and some friends and I decided to go to a night church service in the crossroads. A plan we talked about for months and the stars finally aligned. That night they encouraged everyone to stay late and play games, and that’s when I met Sean. He knew everyone and absolutely lit up the room. We hit it off immediately, laughing all night with our friends. I left hoping we’d become friends so I could have more nights like that. Little did I know what was in store! We saw each other again the following week and he was so intentional about the way he spoke to my friends and I, remembering the smallest details from our conversations prior. I remember he called me “Miss Wichita” and I think my heart skipped a beat. I'd never met anyone like him before and was amazed by the way he treated everyone and made them feel heard. After service, he walked me to my car and asked me questions about my life. I was so nervous I didn’t ask him anything in return, and hoped I’d get a chance to redeem myself the following Tuesday. Luckily, I didn’t have to wait that long! A little DM was in my inbox two days later from Sean Troupe. I did my due diligence in scrolling through his Instagram and realized that not only is this guy gorgeous, hilarious, thoughtful, and kind, but also adventurous, family-oriented and squeezes every drop out of life. AND he’s interested in ME? We walked around a park the following week talking about everything under the sun. We were both incredibly candid, and with each passing minute I quickly realized this may actually turn into something pretty amazing! Our first date soon followed and he showed up at my condo with flowers before driving us to watch the sunset on a hill. He’d even remembered my favorite restaurant, but we missed our reservation because we got lost in conversation. So, we pivoted to poke bowls and he played his guitar while we ate on his front porch. It was the perfect first date, and I crossed my fingers it would be my last first date. The next day he left for a trip to NYC and he FaceTimed me on the second night from a pier telling me to date him. I remember thinking “who the heck is this guy and is this real life😂” Little did he know I already started telling my friends I had met my future husband. You’d think things could only go downhill from there, but each day brings more happiness and adventure. I could go on and on (and I guess I should since there's room on the website), but I will keep it (semi) short and sweet! I’ve prayed for a love that is kind, patient and centered on faith and laughter. Sean is an answered prayer and then some! God is so faithful, and it’s been the joy of my life spending this year together. I can’t wait to celebrate a lifetime of love with the people who made us who we are.
