The group Pompeii tour will be May 11th at 10am. It lasts 2 hours and we will all meet at the Sorrento train station at 9am

After your morning tour of Pompeii, you have plenty of time to explore the surrounding area. Here are some great options for the rest of your day:

1. Visit Mount Vesuvius

Take a short trip to Mount Vesuvius, the volcano that buried Pompeii in AD 79.

You can hike to the crater for panoramic views of Naples and the Amalfi Coast.

The hike is about 30 minutes from the parking area (moderate difficulty).

How to Get There: Drive, take a taxi, or join a shuttle from Pompeii.

2. Explore Herculaneum

A better-preserved alternative to Pompeii, Herculaneum is smaller but offers more intact structures, frescoes, and wooden artifacts.

How to Get There: Only 20 minutes away by train from Pompeii (Circumvesuviana line to Ercolano Scavi station).

3. Relax in Sorrento

Head to Sorrento for lunch with stunning sea views.

Enjoy shopping, limoncello tastings, or relax at Marina Grande.

How to Get There: A 30-40 minute drive or train to Napoli, then switch to the Sorrento line.

4. Wine Tasting at a Vineyard on Vesuvius

Visit a vineyard on Mount Vesuvius for a wine tasting and lunch.

Popular spots: Cantina del Vesuvio, Bosco de’ Medici, or Sorrentino Vini.

You’ll get to try Lacryma Christi wine, made from the volcanic soil.

5. Naples – Pizza & Museums

Take a train to Naples (30 minutes from Pompeii) and visit:

Naples Archaeological Museum – Home to many artifacts from Pompeii.

Try authentic Neapolitan pizza at famous spots like Sorbillo or Da Michele.

6. Enjoy the Amalfi Coast (Positano or Amalfi)

If you're feeling adventurous, Positano or Amalfi could be an option for an afternoon visit.

It takes about 1 hour to drive from Pompeii to Positano.

Stroll the beach, explore shops, and take in the breathtaking scenery.

7. Visit the Villa of Mysteries

If you want to explore more Pompeii ruins, check out the Villa of Mysteries, known for its vibrant frescoes.

Located just outside the main site, so it’s a quick and easy addition.
