Matt & Jess met in the most modern way ever… swiping on Bumble (…even though Matt made a promise to his friends to stay away from the dating apps for the summer). They met in person for the first time at New Park Brewing. There they laughed and bonded over their love for their families, traveling, and being active. Everything felt natural, easy, and fun. The date went so well that only a few days later and after only one date, Matt was able to convince Jess to go out in Hartford with some of his friends. Although a crazy (and kind of risky!) move by Jess, she was able to see how fun Matt was and how great the people around him are.

From the first time Jess walked into Matt’s house, Mavrick instantly took a liking to her (just like he does with everyone that comes over). However, Mavrick has fully accepted his mom, Jess, into the family and has enjoyed her company on some of his adventures with dad. What he loves the most is the nonstop attention and cuddles he receives from his loving parents.

During the three years Matt and Jess have been together they’ve taken many trips including Portugal and the Azores, as well as more local weekend getaways like the Finger Lakes and Burlington, VT. They have hiked many beautiful trails, and even conquered the tallest mountain in Portugal (Mount Pico in the Azores), despite their fear of heights and Jess’s panic attack! They are blessed to belong to and have the support of two, big, loving families.

Matt proposed at Elizabeth Park in West Hartford on May 26, 2024 and Jess happily said yes. West Hartford now is the location of their first date, first house, and engagement.

Soon after getting engaged, Jess & Matt quickly fell in love with Valley View for their perfect Fall wedding. They both can’t wait to celebrate their love with all their friends and family in October!
