Ash Point Preserve

Check out the trails at Ash Point Preserve. This coastal spruce forest has a 2,140-foot granite shoreline with views of Penobscot Bay and Ash Island.

Dramatic, disturbed forests and mossy stones line the path to views of a stunning Maine coastline. Wave-fed tide pools sit among the great stones.

While the trails are typically flat with occasional low grades, roots creating stepping hazards are common. The Granite Point Trail offers the easiest and most direct hike to the coast with some large rocks and roots to avoid or step over. The Hermit Trail is similar with some narrow sections close to the shore. The Muscle Ridge trail offers a more difficult hike with many steps and short slopes.
