Jess and Max grew up together in Springfield, NJ. They went to the same elementary school, lived in the same neighborhood, and spent their summers at the same JCC in Scotch Plains. Camp was their home away from home, and they share so many fun memories, from traveling around the U.S. to nights with friends.

In 2012, Jess and Max started spending more time together when Jess got her license. Each day she would pick Max up and they would drive to school, and even started creating their own traditions, like going to Dunkin' Donuts for “Dunkin' Fridays”. They quickly became best friends - spending birthday dinners together, going to family events, and hanging out at the Rothbard pool.

The friendship became long distance in 2014 when Jess left for Penn State. Max would regularly drive to Happy Valley to spend weekends with Jess. “My best friend Max is coming to visit!” she would tell her friends. He always fit in perfectly. Eventually, in the summer of 2016, Jess and Max realized their feelings had changed - and while they both loved each other, this side of their relationship was new, uncharted territory. But they were determined to make it work.

Everyone knew how important their friendship was - including their moms, Lori and Amy, who even tried to get them to break up to preserve their friendship! A year later, the couple celebrated their first anniversary and their love has continued to grow each day.

Since becoming a couple, Jess and Max have created a fun and loving life together. They conquered long distance with many drives down to Monmouth University, and, in 2022, created their own home in Hoboken, NJ. They share a love for travel, sports, cooking, and spending quality time with friends and family. In August 2023, Max proposed at Reeves Reed Arboretum in Summit with their families by their side.
