Jessica and Blake’s story began in the most unexpected of places – on the first day of Occupational Therapy school. It was a typical first day: nerves in the air, unfamiliar faces, and a room full of hopeful students all wondering if they were in the right place. Jessica was excited but anxious, eager to start this new chapter of her life. Blake, on the other hand, was quietly taking in the scene, determined to focus on the work ahead. They ended up sitting next to each other on day one, and sometimes, all it takes is a seat next to the right person to change everything. 


One of the first things Jessica and Blake discovered about each other was their mutual love for Long Beach Island, a small piece of paradise on the New Jersey coast to which they both vacationed while growing up. Jessica and Blake found peace and joy in the simplicity of LBI. 


As they settled into their relationship, it was clear that their bond was more than just academic. They shared a love of watching football together, rooting for their favorite teams on lazy Sunday afternoons. With snacks piled high and the TV on, it became their weekly tradition—an opportunity to relax and connect outside the demands of their busy lives. These simple moments of joy became the foundation for many happy memories, and soon enough, Blake knew that these were the moments he wanted to hold onto forever.


After graduation, it was a time of figuring out who they were both individually and as a couple, all while adjusting to the exciting yet challenging transition into full-time work. Starting new jobs together was a huge milestone. For Jessica, the day she first stepped into her role as an occupational therapist felt like the culmination of years of hard work. Blake, too, was beginning in the field, diving into his new job with excitement and dedication. Although they were both navigating new challenges in their careers, they supported each other through every step, balancing their professional lives with their personal connection. It was a beautiful reminder that no matter where life took them, they were in it together.
