Jessica and Dylan were both born and raised in Watsonville, CA. They grew up attending Twin Lakes Church and even went to the same high school in Aptos together.
It wasn't until the summer of 2018, however, that they met officially. They became friends while working together at Kruz Kidz summer camp at Twin Lakes Church. They loved being camp counselors together.
They stayed friends after summer ended and both went off or back to college in Southern California. Jessica was going to be a junior at Biola University and Dylan was going to be a freshman at the University of Redlands.
During that school year, they were both interested in other people and pursued relationships that ultimately ended. Afterwards, they found themselves confiding in each other and getting closer. As a new summer of Kruz Kidz was beginning, Jessica and Dylan individually told themselves and thought it wise to stay single for the time being since they were both fresh out of relationships.
That did not end up happening though.... :)

Dylan officially asked Jessica to be his girlfriend on July 1, 2019. We went out for ice cream at Marianne's and then walked along Seacliff Beach together.
We were both working together on the program team at Kruz Kidz as Shifu and Lucky. We loved dressing up and acting silly in skits together!

Because of COVID, we had to experience long distance for the school year. Dylan stayed home and completed his classes online, while Jessica moved into a house near Biola so that she could complete her requirements for her senior recital and conducting recital. We drove to see each other any chance we got!
