It all started on a festive March night in 2019 at Missouri S&T. Levi had just returned from his co-op in St. Louis to celebrate the legendary St. Patrick’s Day, and fate—along with a little nudge from a bridesmaid-to-be—led him to Sigma Nu. Living right across the street at the Zeta house, Jess Summers didn’t have to go far, but she had no idea that night would change her life.

Levi initiated the conversation, and the two spent the whole night talking, laughing, and making a late-night stop at Waffle House before finally calling it a night at 5 AM. Jess’s first impression of him? Reserved, kind, well-mannered, and undeniably country. His? She was pretty, funny, spontaneous, and—without a doubt—a city girl.

That summer, with Levi on co-op and Jess interning in Arkansas, they kept things casual. But when they reunited in Rolla that fall, something shifted. Levi, patient as ever, waited as Jess slowly opened up, and before long, he had become someone she couldn’t imagine life without. Their first date at Colton’s Steakhouse was filled with nerves, excitement, and a lingering feeling that neither of them wanted the night to end.

Through the years, their relationship was tested and strengthened—surviving long-distance for two years after graduation, navigating the challenges of COVID-19, and experiencing loss together. No matter the time or distance, they always prioritized each other, facing every challenge as a team.

Some of their best memories come from the adventures they share—hunting, hiking (with their pup, Capone), barbecuing, and trying new things together. They push each other to grow, learn, and become better people, all while keeping life full of laughter and fun.

On December 6, 2024, Levi surprised Jess with a proposal during a weekend getaway to Dillon, CO—complete with family to celebrate. She had never felt happier or more certain about their future together.

Now, they are enjoying engaged life in Fort Collins, CO, continuing to build their life side by side. They can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with all of their favorite people who have been part of this journey with them!
