The invisible string theory states that two souls can be tied through an invisible thread despite time, place or circumstance. Eventually, two souls are bound to meet through said thread when the time is perfectly right.

Cody and Jessica met in August of 2020, although that was not the first time they were in the same place at the same time.

They both attended the University of Mount Union starting in August of 2012. Cody played lacrosse and was studying exercise science. Jessica was on the swim team and wanted to study geology. Each had classes and practiced in the same buildings, but did not meet.

Shortly after college, they lived in Columbus, Ohio, and still did not cross paths.

It took until the adventurous leap out to Denver, Colorado, for the invisible thread to bring them together.

Each was growing and shaping in ways that allowed the best version of themselves the first time they would meet. They were taking chances, making memories, pushing limits, and learning about themselves.

So when they finally met for the first time, it allowed for an effortless and magnetic connection.

It was their likeness for hiking and the outdoors that inspired their first planned day together. They hiked Mount Bierstadt, one of the state’s mountains considered a 14er, and managed to stay up for a full 24 hours chatting, hiking, eating, and enjoying the Colorado outdoors.

A few days later, they drove to Aspen and spent the day by the river. Music played from Cody’s speaker while they sat in a hammock exchanging tunes. They quickly respected each other's taste in music and thoroughly enjoyed the easy banter in conversation.

Each day was even better than the last, and they both loved life even more when the other was in it.

They started going camping, seeing live music, making food, traveling, thrifting, meeting each other’s families and friends, all the while learning about and falling more for one another.

Throughout time, they learned better how to be the best teammate for the other. How to listen better.

They learned each other’s needs, how to best love the other.

They are still learning and growing in each of these ways. That is what you do when you love someone deeply like that.

Cody and Jessica’s invisible string could not have connected at a better moment, under any better circumstances. Whatever the future has to hold, just like any other adventure they have been on, together they are ready for it.
